Aims:

To use ecological insight to guide collections of fresh tissue from terrestrial and marine plants.

To create botanical inventories for Protected Areas in Panama.
-
To culture and characterize endophytic fungi.
-
To prepare organic extracts for use in anticancer and tropical disease bioassay in Panama and for testing by industrial collaborators.
-
To maintain a central database of collections, bioassay and chemistry results.
-
To conduct outreach activities to disseminate information about Panamanian biodiversity.
-
To provide trainning and technology transfer to Panamanians.
