Conservation, Outreach and Biodiversity Inventory in Panama

This Associate Program consists of three main components:

A. Conservation and Outreach Initiatives. Todd Capson (STRI)
B. Terrestrial Plant Biodiversity Inventory. Alicia Ibañez (STRI).
C. Marine Invertebrate Biodiversity Inventory. Héctor Guzman (STRI)

Aims:

-
Link the activities of the APs 1, 2 and 3 to biodiversity conservation by way of public outreach and educational activities in Panama and in the international community.
-
Work with the Panamanian government and various other stakeholders to implement programs to protect Panama's Coiba National Park.
-
Collection of selected plants and marine invertebrates,in coordination with AP1, from Coiba Island for the drug discovery activities in APs 2 and 3.
